Ananda Farms Blend FECO2 by FFEPDX

For those who don't know Farmer's Friend Extracts (FFE), they were founded in 2016 in Portland, as the first licensed medical processor in Oregon, with the mission of providing high quality medical cannabis products, especially RSO/FECO, to patients. FFE is also focused on providing value to their farm partners, who are featured on the products they produce. FFE is "locally owned, operated, and financed" with a team that consists of cannabis patients and advocates. They use a supercritical Co2 extraction method along with their proprietary refinement techniques to produce their full spectrum products.

For this review of FFEPDX Ananda Farms blend FECO2, I decided to try the product two ways. With one gram I filled 5 capsules, resulting in ~150mg THC per capsule, and took one capsule a couple hours before bed in order to be able to judge the full effects and see if this blend helped me with sleep. I used a second gram to do a capsule making tutorial (make sure to check it out if you haven't already πŸ˜‰), and then used those cannacaps as my daily meds in order to see how the blend worked for my regular doses.

High dose experience:
The effects came on strong about 45 minutes to an hour after taking one of the 150mg caps, with powerful full body relief and a stoney head high. The larger dose was very effective for nighttime meds for me and helped get me ready for bed with a serious couch lock and sleepy effect. I was able to get a good 6 or 7 hours rest without waking up on most of the nights I tried the high dose caps, which was very nice 😁

Low dose experience:
The Ananda Farms blend FECO2 worked very well for me for my regular low dose capsules. Taking them at regular intervals throughout the day kept my IBS pain away and my depression/anxiety at bay. I was really pleased by the medicinal properties of this blend.

Overall I loved this Ananda Farms blend FECO2 πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Not surprising since it's a mix of 20 varieties from one of my favorite farms 😁 Highly recommend this one πŸ’―

Farmer's Friend Extracts Capsule Tutorial

Part 1: This tutorial was sponsored by Farmer's Friend Extracts

Today, instead of a review, I'm going to be walking you through how I make cannacaps using Farmer's Friend Extracts' FECO2 products. Firstly, we'll need to collect a few things.

For this tutorial we are going to need:
1g of FFE FECO2
9ml of liquid coconut oil
50 empty size "4" pill capsules

This recipe can be adjusted based on the dosage you wish to make your capsules. For this tutorial I used the Ananda Farms blend FECO2 made on 01/05/22 which contains 748mg of THC. Following this recipe will result in 50 capsules with ~15mg of THC per cap. I'll include an explanation for calculating mg/capsule and creating your own recipes at the end of this tutorial.

In addition to the ingredients listed above, you'll need a syringe or dropper of some kind (the one included in FFE tinctures would work great), a small glass dish, a small whisk or fork, a heat source (preferably a flat top grill or hot plate of some kind), and a container to store your finished capsules. Also a cap filler device is incredibly helpful when filling capsules and I don't recommend trying this without one. I use a size "4" "EZ Cap Filler", and there are several other options out there from various online retailers. Just make sure you get the correct size for the capsules you are using.

The first thing to do is to preheat your heat source to 150°f. While it's warming up, separate the top and bottom of the empty capsules and fill your cap filler with the bottom halves (the longer ones) of the empty capsules, putting the top halves to the side for later. Next, transfer your FECO2 into the glass container and warm it up on your heat source until the oil becomes thin and easy to mix with the coconut oil. Personally I do this on a flat top grill for about 5 minutes or so. You don't want to get it too hot, just warm enough that it moves more easily in the glass container and will mix nicely with the coconut oil. Next, add the liquid coconut oil to the glass container and whisk together with the FECO2 until fully blended. Turn off the heat and remove the glass container from the heat source. Be careful, the glass may be warm.

Part 2: This tutorial was sponsored by Farmer's Friend Extracts

Next fill the syringe/dropper with some infused coconut oil and proceed to fill the capsules one by one. If you are using a syringe, you may want a dispenser tip to make filling easier and less messy. Carefully fill each capsule, being sure not to overfill as this can cause quite a mess. Once all 50 capsules are full, take the collection of capsule top halves and cap each capsule. Be sure to press down with some pressure, but not too much. You should press the top half down as much as possible without squishing it to fully close the capsules.

Now just collect your capsules and store them in your preferred container. That's it! I hope this tutorial has been helpful! Below are the details on how to create your own recipes.

Formulas/Calculations for creating your own recipes for size "4" capsules:

In order to create your own recipes, you just need to understand how they work and input your own numbers into some formulas. Creating a recipe for 50 capsules makes the most sense because most pill fillers can hold 50 capsules at a time and it is easy enough to double the recipe if you wish to make 100 capsules.

First, take the total mg THC in 1g of FECO2 and divide by 50 (50 capsules) in order to get your mg/capsule. In this tutorial that was 748mg/50caps = 14.96mg/cap. If the resulting number is higher than you want your capsules to be, you will need to use less than a gram of FECO2 and vise versa.

If you want to set your mg/cap at a specific number, let's say 5mg/cap, you would need to do some more advanced calculations and measure a very specific amount of FECO2. For this reason, what I would recommend for most people is to just determine how much a half gram of FECO2 would be per cap (~7.5mg/cap for the Ananda Farms blend) and using that as an increment to adjust by.

For example if you want your caps to be 7.5mg then you would need to use 0.5 grams of the Ananda Farms blend FECO2. If you wanted your cannacaps to be 22.5mg you would need to use 1.5 grams, and so on.

The maximum amount of FECO2 you can fit in 50 size "4" capsules is 10 grams (0.2 per cap). In order to figure out how many ml of liquid coconut oil you need for your recipe, simply take 10 and subtract the number of grams of FECO2 in your recipe. For example, if your recipe calls for 0.5g of FECO2 then you need 9.5ml of liquid coconut oil.

Orange Whip Live Budder by Echo Electuary

This Echo Electuary x Ananda Farms Orange Whip (Orange Cookies x French Toast) live budder had a loud sweet orange garlic gas smell with savory dough and cream notes. The profile was very unique and complex. The budder had amazing color and the texture was simply perfection.

The flavor was a very strong and unique orange garlic gas with creamy dough notes that tingled my nose when dabbing πŸŠπŸ§„⛽🍦🍩 This profile was very unique and flavorful. It was also very smooth to dab πŸ‘πŸΌ

The high was strong in my head giving me that headband feeling. I found the effects to be both stimulating and relaxing. One of those strange hybrids that doesn't quite feel right to me πŸ˜…

Overall I was impressed with this live budder. Even though the profile and effects of the Orange Whip weren't really what I'm usually looking for, it's definitely very high quality and I was glad to have tried it. Loud and unique profile, perfect texture, strong flavor and effects πŸ‘πŸΌ

Garlic Bread by Ananda Farms

This Garlic Bread (GMO x French Toast) grown by Ananda Farms has a very unique smell to it πŸ˜‹. It's not quite garlic like GMO, but it definitely has a bread type smell to it 🀯 The nugs are beautiful 🀩 Totally frosty, nice green color and dark brown hairs perfectly intact πŸ‘πŸΌ Cracking the nugs really brings out the sweet bread smell.

The Garlic Bread tastes pretty crazy in my vape 🀀 So sweet yet savory and doughy 🍞 The vapor is super thick and the flavor is strong yet mellow. I really enjoyed the flavor on the Garlic Bread πŸ˜‹ The high was a little light for me. Kinda stoney in my head with some light body relief.

Melon Mints by Ananda Farms

This Melon Mints (Animal Mints x French Toast) grown by Ananda Farms has a super unique cheesy melon smell 🀯 It's super funky with some earthy citrus notes πŸ˜‹ I love when I find a new profile that I really enjoy and this one is perfect for me πŸ•Ί The nugs are semi dense with good give and totally frosted 🀩 Great bag appeal to go with the nose πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ The buds also have a beautiful color to them that I'm not sure really shows through in my pictures.

Most people who know me know I'm a sucker for quality funky earth profiles and this one is quickly making it's way to the top of my favorites list πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ The vapor is thick and long lasting, and was flavorful all the way till the end πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ The high is stoney and full body for me, excellent meds πŸ€—

This Cantaloupe Haze (Haze Brothers x Mexican Sativa) bred by DNA Genetics and grown by Ananda Farms has dense frosted dark green buds with pretty dark brown hairs. Breaking up the bud leaves my fingers sticky and stinky πŸ‘πŸΌ The smell is pretty unique too. It's kinda sweet/fruity melon, kinda woody, kinda Hazy with a citrus funk inside.

The flavor was really nice in my vape. Sweet fruity and funky πŸ˜‹ Vapor was smooth and thick as usual with Ananda flower. High was mostly in my head, definitely a Haze 🀯 giving me that headband feeling and a strong uplifting/motivating high that made me want to get outside and go for a walk.

This Durban Poison (South African Landrace) grown by Ananda Farms has a strong piney citrus profile that is distinctly terpinolene to me 🀀 The smell on this bud is loud πŸ”Š Maybe even louder than the 2020 full season, which was pretty crazy. Buds are frosty and dense 🀩 very nice bag appeal.

The flavor is very strong in my vape 🀀 piney citrus terpinolene πŸŒ²πŸ‹πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ The vapor was thick and long lasting with flavor going strong until the end πŸ‘πŸΌ The high was nice and uplifting, giving me a nice headband feeling, with some solid relief for my body as well 😁 Great daytime smoke πŸŒžπŸ’¨

Golden Papaya 90u Fresh Press By Bo's Nose Knows

This BNK x Ananda Farms Golden Papaya (Kosher Kush x Papaya) 90u fresh press hash rosin has a light yet nice earthy fruity sour citrus kush profile to it. This fresh press has some serious clarity 🀩 Although I generally prefer cold cured badder, quality fresh press can be nice sometimes too. Leaving this hash rosin on the counter caused it to start buddering up within a day or two though so definitely keep it cold if you want it to stay fresh press πŸ˜… The smell comes out a lot once it's been cured up though πŸ”ŠπŸ€€

The flavor is a nice earthy kush with fruity sour citrus 🌱⛽πŸ‘πŸ‹ Personally I think the flavor improves once the fresh press has cured up and I've been enjoying it quite a bit πŸ˜‹ The high is strong and stoney in my head with heavy body relief as well πŸ€— Very good meds for me πŸ™πŸΌ

24 Papayas by Bo's Nose Knows

This BNK x Ananda Farms 24 Papayas (24K + Golden Papaya) hash rosin badder has a nice strong fruity orange and earthy kush smell 🍊🌱⛽πŸ‹ The badder is beautifully cold cured with great color and texture 🀩 This badder is nice and wet just the way I like it πŸ’¦

The flavor was strong orange earthy gas with notes of citrus fruit when dabbing the 24 Papayas 🍊🌱⛽πŸ‹ The high is nice and stoney in my head with some solid body relief as well. I found it to be quite interesting in terms of effects. Stimulating for the mind yet couch locked. Leaving me stuck deciding if I wanted to go for a walk or lay on the couch πŸ˜…

There is something I have to bring up real quick about the 24 Papayas. I was ranting the other day about making mixed batches and making up names so I feel like I gotta say something here. While I liked the 24 Papayas, I do wish it was more clearly labeled as being a mix. I also don't think the mix made a particularly special profile, like it did with the 24 Bananas, so I'm not sure why I would want it over the 24K or Golden Papaya separated. I'm curious how other people feel about this topic πŸ•΅️

Mendo Breath by Ananda Farms

This Mendo Breath ((OGKB x Cherry Pie Kush) x Mendo Montage) bred by Gage Green Group and grown by Ananda Farms has big dense buds that are tightly trimmed and totally frosted πŸ‘πŸΌ Smell was a little light until I cracked a nug, but inside is a very strong funky earthy garlic gas profile πŸ§„⛽πŸ”₯ The inside of this Mendo Breath is crazy frosty and breaking the buds up leaves my fingers sticky.

The flavor, although a bit light, was very nice in my vape. Gassy garlic earth that is similar to GMO πŸ˜‹ Vapor was smooth and thick. High was stoney in my head with some nice body relief as well πŸ€— This one would have been a real winner for me if it just had a little more nose to it before I cracked the buds.

Ananda Farms Animal Cookies

This Animal Cookies (GSC x Fire OG) grown by Ananda Farms has big dense frosty nugs 🀩 The nose is light unfortunately, kinda sweet citrus πŸ‹πŸ‹ but cracking the nugs brings out a nice sweet earthy diesel citrus 🌱⛽πŸ‹ The smell is reminiscent of GSC strains but also has that earthy Fire OG in there. I have to say that I prefer this profile to generic cookies, including GSC from Ananda.

The flavor is earthy citrus gas in my vape πŸŒ±πŸ‹⛽ I'm normally not big on GSC strains but the earthiness makes this one nice for me πŸ‘πŸΌ Vapor is smooth and thick. The high is stoney yet uplifting for me. Nice strain to relax with or use before a walk on a sunny afternoon 🌞

Ananda Farms Sour Diesel

This batch of Sour Diesel grown by Ananda Farms was harvested over a year ago, but you might not be able to tell if it wasn't written on the label. It really speaks to the cure they do πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ The smell is a bit light but it's definitely got that sour citrus gas smell with some woodiness to it πŸ‹⛽πŸͺ΅ The nugs are fluffy but still have some density to them, which is nice.

Vaping the Sour Diesel brings out a very strong sour citrus gas flavor 🀀 The vapor is quite thick and long lasting πŸ‘πŸΌ The high is motivating and stimulating yet stoney 😁 I can feel it strongly in my forehead and it makes me want to get outside and do something 🌞

BNK x Ananda Farms Trop Kush Hash Rosin Badder

This BNK x Ananda Farms Trop Kush (Tropicana x (SFVOG x Triangle Kush)) hash rosin badder has a nice earthy kush smell to it but it's kinda light on the nose unfortunately. I really like the profile, I just wish it was a bit stronger. The color and texture of the badder are lovely and it's great to work with πŸ‘πŸΌ

The flavor is earthy piney gassy kush funk with just a hint of citrus fruit 🌲⛽πŸ‹πŸŠπŸ˜‹ Even though the flavor is light, it's really enjoyable. I do have to say that I've come to expect major flavor from Ananda Farms hash rosin collabs and this one just kinda didn't live up to those expectations.

The high is very strong in my head, giving me that "headband" feeling while being nice and uplifting. It also provided me with some solid body relief as well. Great daytime meds for me 🌞

Overall this is some great hash rosin, and I will probably get more, it just fell short of my expectations when it comes to strength of smell and flavor. I'm really curious to hear other people's opinions on this latest collab from BNK and Ananda πŸ•΅️ I've seen a lot of people say good things so I'm wondering if the 90u was the one to get this round πŸ€”

BNK x Ananda Farms 24K 90u Hash Rosin Badder

I got the BNK x Ananda Farms 24K 90u hash rosin to compare to the mixed badder I reviewed last week. I guess it looks and smells a little better, the flavor is very good and it dabs incredibly smooth πŸ˜‹ I feel like the 90u has more of the orange gas and less of the cheesy funk to it. The high is very nice and a bit stronger in my head than with the mix.

The 90u badder feels like a slightly more premium experience to me but it also feels like it's missing something. I understand why people like getting the premium bag separate, but personally I prefer all the good bags mixed together. I liked the 24K mix badder better than the 90u but I still really enjoyed this one πŸ˜‹

Ananda Farms Tropicana Kush

This Tropicana Kush (Tropicana x (SFVOG x Triangle Kush)) grown by Ananda Farms has a loud earthy kush smell that I really enjoy πŸ˜‹ The nugs aren't very pretty or dense but what they lack in bag appeal they more than make up for in flavor and effect πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

The vapor is very thick when vaping and the flavor is a super strong earthy kush 🀀 The vapor and flavor lasted longer than probably anything I've ever put into my vape. I'm seriously impressed by it πŸ‘πŸΌ The high is nice and full body for me while also being uplifting 🌞

I really really like this strain from Ananda, it reminds me of their Kosher Kush which is a favorite of mine. I'm seriously wanting a dab of it after trying the flower so I'm hoping there will be a dabbable of it at some point 🀞🏼🀞🏼
